Some Important Info For Selling Your Art Online

So, you want to sell your art online. Well, you’ve got your work cut out for you. Anything to do with the arts, whether it’s painting, music or whatever, is very competitive and very hard to get your foot in the door. However, with a solid work ethic and a few tips, you can get a good jump on the other artists out there, most of whom are just not very business savvy. This article should help you get there.

First thing you MUST do is understand who your market is. Are you into abstract art? Do you paint landscapes? Not every art buyer buys every style of art. So you need to do some research on who is looking for the type of art that you create and then go to where these people hang out. Most of them will hang out at specific art forums all over the Internet. Just go to Google and type in “art forums” and you’ll find plenty of them. These are the first places you want to go.

Secondly, you need to understand what the market is willing to pay for the artwork that you create. If you’re intent on selling each painting for $500 but the market is only willing to pay $200 for these paintings, you’re going to have a hard time selling your work. There is no way around this. Conversely, you don’t want to sell yourself short. If the market is willing to pay $500 and you slap a price tag of $200 on your work, they’re going to think that you simply don’t value what you do very much. So pricing is critical in this business.

Finally, you need to have patience. You’re not going to put your work up online and start making money the next day. It’s going to take time. You will need to build a relationship with your prospects. Making a newsletter available to them related to art will help greatly in this area. Show them that you’re interested in THEIR satisfaction with whatever they get.

So, You Want To Sell Your Art? Read This!

Ah, the joys of being a struggling artist. You slave all day over a hot canvas, come up with your masterpiece of color and then hope and pray that somebody, somewhere, will recognize your talent and buy it. Problem is, you haven’t got the slightest idea of how to go about selling your art work. Well, in this article, I’m going to share a few tips that just might help. Keep reading to find out more.

Probably the most important tip I can give you is this…give it time. So many artists get discouraged after just a few weeks. Let me be perfectly honest with you, it’s a competitive world out there. For every artist who is successful, there are at least a thousand who are struggling to get even an ounce of recognition. Those who have the determination to stick it out (easier said than done) are the ones who are ultimately successful. In many cases, it’s simply a matter of who is the most persistent.

Another important thing to do is to create for yourself a web presence. Put an art blog up on the Internet. Have photos of your artwork so that people can see what it looks like. You never know. Somebody might just stumble upon your blog, like what they see, and become a customer. Point is, if you’re not visible, you’re not going to make any sales. So putting up a blog with as many samples as you can put up there is critical to success.

You probably also want to network with other artists. Believe it or not, you are not all in competition with each other. There are different buyers out there for the many different artistic styles. By networking with other artists, you may very well make contacts with those who have customers for your particular style of artwork and visa versa. You’ll get a lot farther in this business making friends than going it alone.

There’s a lot more you can do. If you’ll check out the link in my signature, you’ll find a review of a great resource that will greatly help you in getting your artwork sold.

Must Read Tips For Selling Your Art

As an artist, you probably already know what I’m about to tell you, but I’m going to say it anyway. The art world is a very competitive one. There are more people struggling to sell their artwork than you can possibly imagine. Therefore, to have any chance of success in this business, you must take advantage of every possible opportunity. This article is going to share a few tips on selling your artwork that should help a lot.

Let’s start off with your ads. You are running ads for your artwork, right? Well, you need to write better ones. More specifically, you need to write better descriptions for your artwork. In other words, your ads should be almost as visual as your paintings themselves. When somebody reads the ad for your artwork, they should almost be able to get a picture in their mind of what it looks like. The more descriptive the ad, the better the chance of the artwork getting sold.

Build a list of prospects. There is an easy way to do this. Simply put up a page on the Internet promising to send relevant info to people who are interested in purchasing art. Then, what you want to do is even send them recommendations for other people’s paintings. That’s right. Recommend other works. This will make it appear that you’re honestly looking out for the welfare of the people on your list and not just trying to take their money from them. This is a great way to build a solid relationship with these people.

Finally, you want to make sure that you advertise in every possible way that you can. This means making business cards, taking out classified ads in your local paper, putting up a web site on the Internet, getting listed in your local phone directory, and so on. You want to make sure that you reach people wherever they can be reached. The more advertising you do, the better the chance of getting your artwork sold.

There is no doubt that this is a competitive field. There are many struggling artists out there. No doubt, if you’re reading this, you’re one of them. But the above tips should help you greatly. And, if you’ll check out the link in my signature, you’ll find a review of a great resource that will also help a lot.

Review Of The Thriving Artist

Let me tell you something about this product that nobody else will dare have the nerve to tell you. As good as it is, and it’s darn good, you are still going to have your work cut out for you. Why? Because the arts are a killer way to make a living. They are the most competitive fields on the planet…hands down. Do NOT expect to go through this product and sell all your paintings inside of a day. It’s not that easy.

Having said that, if anything is going to prepare you to sell your art, this product will do it. The author, Steve Popkin, is an artist himself. A glass artist no less. Talk about a tough sell. And not only that, Steve admits that he isn’t the greatest glass artist in the world. In fact, he says he is quite average. Yet, he sells his art while better artists don’t. So you have to ask why.

The answer is because this guy, like it or not, has learned how to be a marketer of his art. Yes, he’s a salesman. I used to think the two things didn’t go together, but obviously they can. Anyway, Steve shares every secret that he knows about how to make your artwork desirable to others. Now, you’re probably thinking, why would he share his secrets? Why not keep them to himself? Hello…glass artist? Do you really think he is worried about competition for what he creates?

Anyway, the product is excellent. I can’t possibly go over everything in it as I’d be writing for a year and a day, but Steve goes over how to get name recognition, how to get buyers for a piece before you’ve even created it, how to do exhibits and almost guarantee you go home with money in your pocket…and so much more.

Steve has designed a system that he’s put together in 27, yes, 27 sections. No, this is not some light reading. There is a lot to absorb. But if you’re serious about wanting to sell your artwork, then you’ll take the time to go through this package. I guess it depends on how important it is to you. But make no mistake about it…this guy knows how to sell artwork.

Here is the site where you can check out what he has to offer.
